Community Programs and Partnerships

Community Commitment

BestBank and its partner company, Shelter Mortgage, share a strong commitment to the communities we serve. We offer a wide range of products and services that provide for homeownership and asset building opportunities for everyone in our communities, including minorities and low and moderate-income individuals and families.

Education and Partnerships

Financial education is critical to all families and individuals to become self-sufficient in creating a successful future. Through our programs and partnerships with multiple nonprofit organizations, we offer the ability to obtain the information needed to make sound financial decisions.

While providing a variety of loan programs, our partnerships also create the availability of down payment and closing cost assistance to qualified applicants and pre and post-home purchase counseling and education. Our loan officers work closely with the representatives of many home-counseling providers to identify the best loan program for the applicant.

We have also partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, the City of Racine's Weed & Seed Program and Good Hope Economic Development Corporation in offering Individual Development Account (IDA) programs to qualifying low-income individuals that are interested in developing a savings plan. The savings plan provides matching funds towards a home purchase, starting a business or post-secondary education. The Boys & Girls Club IDA program is part of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee’s Asset Building initiative.

BestBank is a strong supporter of the Get Checking program, a nationwide program offering individuals the opportunity to learn how to properly manage a checking account. Our employees volunteer in the classes by presenting deposit account information and responding to participant questions. Primary participants are currently listed on Chex Systems, so this solutions is viewed as a second-chance checking option.
